And Now for Something Completely Different….

As some of you may know, I usually write about education, or politics, or both. But sometimes I write about MEDIA and FILMS. Today, I am going to write a gleaming review of….WAIT FOR IT….a FILM REVIEW channel on YouTube.

I love YouTube, but there is a lot of crap on it, obviously. Yet, the channel actually called “Fish Jelly” is an insightful and brilliant discussion of current and sometimes classic films. These two gents, a married couple, are all at once thorough, funny as hell, adorable, and right on target 98% of the time. In fact, I have only disagreed with them once.

Nick and Joseph have posted more film reviews than I can count. I think they must do several per day. Frankly, I don’t know how they still have vocal cords left. But I just love listening to their banter.

Joseph, one of the cutest people on earth, is so paced and articulate with his film summaries. Not only that, but his speech patterns and clarity are so relaxing for me. I NEVER have to wonder what he just said because he is as clear as a bell. And Nick, one of the artsiest people on earth, is so well-versed in the language of cinema that you can and should really trust that he knows what he is talking about. He is also highly entertaining and humorous.

Really Great Reviews

What I also really appreciate is the way they listen and interact with each other, the spot-on word choices with great vocabulary, and really, the obvious quality of their educations and brains.

When I invest time to watch a film, I make sure I listen to at least part of a review from them first. But warning…there are always spoilers in their reviews. If I’m being honest, I sometimes just watch their reviews instead of the damn movies.
